The Council for Retail and Sales (CRS), housed at DeSales University, will hold its next educational symposium: Reading, Writing, and Retailing,<\/a> on April 19 from 9am-2:30pm EST. The event will be held at the DeSales University Center in Center Valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re so excited about this symposium, which will focus on issues and changes within the industry. We\u2019ll be covering playwrights, non-fiction, fiction, publishing, social media, finding a publisher, and all sorts of topics. Whether you\u2019re a bookworm, writer, publisher, or just interested in this unique industry, this event has something for everyone,\u201d said Doc Ogden, chairman of the board of directors for CRS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the event, attendees can immerse themselves in a world of creativity with engaging sessions by renowned authors, journalists, and publishers who will share their writing journeys and offer valuable tips for aspiring writers. Shelley Dennis, television writer for ABC\u2019s The Conners<\/em>, will be the keynote speaker over lunch. Dan Lauria (actor, playwright, producer, author and best known for his role as the dad on the highly acclaimed Emmy winning ABC television show, The Wonder Years<\/em>) will join Lehigh Valley native Daniel Roebuck (author as well as writer, producer, director, and star of several films including Getting Grace<\/em>, Lucky Louie<\/em>, and Hail Mary<\/em>) for a sure-to-be entertaining \u201cConversation with the Dan\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in interactive discussions led by experienced authors. A sample of the table topics include: \u201cUsing Social Media to Leverage Yourself\u201d; \u201cIdeation Creation\u201d; \u201cIn-Store Promotions: Author Signings and More\u201d; \u201cFinding a Publisher: Through the Wringer\u201d; \u201cSo you want to Compose?\u201d; “Navigating the Publishing Landscape\u201d; and \u201cWriting Textbooks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
