On March 16, 2021, guests of the Council for Retail and\nSales (CRS) at DeSales University attended a fascinating seminar with George\nShaw, founder & CEO of pathr.ai \u2122, a disruptive new pioneer in the Spatial\nIntelligence space.  This event was part\nof Meet the Experts, a speaker-series sponsored by CRS in which each event\naddresses an important topic in the retail and sales professions and features a\nsubject matter expert(s). The event was powered by Walmart<\/a> and Adtell\nCommunications<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shaw spoke and answered questions about the\nfirst AI-Powered Spatial Intelligence Platform used to generate and analyze\nanonymous location data to create\/derive actionable, real-time insights for\nbusinesses and businesspeople. Pathr.ai \u2122 operates internationally to help\nsolve problems in many areas including lease value metrics, retail traffic\npatterns, security, and large space analytics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presentation benefited professionals who work in\nwarehouses, factories, hospitals, malls, colleges and universities, resorts,\nretail operations and more.  Shaw discussed how these types of businesses\ncan use spatial analytics in real time, thus allowing them to directly connect\nthe movement of people to their business results.  Rather than simply\nproviding data, Pathr.ai \u2122 collaborates with customers closely to create\nactionable plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The session addressed important questions for retailers,\nsuch as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Is your staff interacting effectively with customers? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Which fixtures and categories attract your customers most effectively? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Which visitors to your locations are behaving\nsuspiciously (i.e. shoplifting)? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Does your space support safe social\ndistancing? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Is your staff using the most efficient\nrestocking routes?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the nation emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic and people\nbegin to come together in retail spaces and events, Shaw\u2019s insight into the\nworld of spatial analytics has been helpful in applying social distancing to\notherwise crowded hotspots.  Pathr.ai \u2122 can\nidentify unsafe places and help customers adjust their traffic patterns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another application that Shaw discussed was understanding\nhow children move through classrooms and interact with each other and their\nteachers. These patterns help schools determine if increased teacher\ninteraction dictates better achievement. \nSimilarly, spatial intelligence software has been used by the MBA to\ntrack players on the court and help teams figure out how to best defend the\nball.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shaw is an innovator in the fields of spatial\nanalytics, Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and related\ntechnology solutions.  His company\u2019s\nproducts leverage the intersection of data and engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to founding Pathr\u2122, Shaw held senior\npositions at RetailNext, Intel, Second Spectrum, Target, and many other\nleading-edge brands\u2014working respectively in the capacities of Principal\nEngineer, Principal Data Strategist, Vice President of Research and\nDevelopment, Technical Fellow and Scientific Advisor. He serves as an advisor\nto multiple start-up and emerging technology entities and is a senior lecturer\nand educator. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He additionally holds multiple U.S. patents for\nhis inventive work in the areas of retail analytics methodology, customer\nmovement and path analysis. Shaw graduated from Boston University, and holds a\nMaster of Science degree from MIT.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
