Business of Cannabis symposium announced

CENTER VALLEY, PA. (January 13, 2020) – The cannabis industry has seen significant growth in recent years as businesses and consumers are realizing the benefits of medical marijuana, CBD and industrial hemp.  The increasing level of demand has brought about opportunity and jobs for entrepreneurs. The Council for Retail and Sales (CRS) will explore these opportunities in their upcoming educational symposium titled the Business of Cannabis.

CRS is part of Lehigh Valley LaunchBox, Penn State Lehigh Valley’s innovation hub. This full-day event will be held on March 11, 2020, at the Penn State Lehigh Valley campus in Center Valley, Pennsylvania.

Industry experts will delve into all aspects of the cannabis industry such as legal and human resources, marketing and branding, banking and financing, retail layout and more.  Special guest Jack Maxwell, from Travel Channel’s Booze “Traveler” show, will discuss his experience with cancer and being a medical marijuana patient.

8:45 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Program to include speakers, breakout sessions, lunch and more

4:00-5:00 p.m. Cannabis Marketplace, networking

The main speakers include Tyrone Russell, President of the Cleveland School of Cannabis, who will provide an overview of the industry and job outlook.  Corbett Hefner, Vice President of R&D, Formation Ag (Colorado) will discuss innovations in the cultivation of hemp.  Joan and Victor Guadagnino, founders of Keystone Canna Remedies, will review the successes and challenges of running a medical marijuana dispensary.  Jeff Adkins, Sr. Vice President, Milford Enterprises will present on various retail plans for businesses in the industry.

Lunch will feature a panel discussion, “PA Politicians: The State of the State,” with the following panelists:

  • Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman
  • State Senator Judy Schwank
  • State Representative Mike Schlossberg

Fetterman will also deliver remarks on the state of cannabis in Pennsylvania.
